Venture Capital Investor

Join Merantix Capital as an investor focused on venture studio activities. You will identify, attract and invest in founders at the earliest stage — often before a company, product or team is fully formed. You will work closely with venture studio founders throughout the ideation and validation process, helping them test assumptions, understand customer needs, sharpen their positioning and turn early ideas into compelling AI company concepts.

What you'll do

• Identify and source potential founders-in-residence through data platforms, LinkedIn, founder communities and your network
• Conduct founder calls and evaluate early-stage opportunities
• Spar with founders-in-residence on customer feedback, positioning and go-to-market strategy
• Work with founders on experiments to validate customer demand and accelerate early traction
• Review founder product strategy and discuss how AI can create differentiated customer propositions
• Write investment memos for founders pre-seed ready and prepare for Investment Committee
• Build and maintain relationships with investors and founder networks

What you'll need

• Several years of experience in startups, technology, venture capital, or another highly entrepreneurial environment
• Strong understanding of how technology and AI can be translated into products and businesses
• Experience evaluating or building new products, businesses or commercial propositions
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand new markets, technologies and business models
• High tolerance for parallel context switching and intellectual honesty
• Strong product and commercial intuition to distinguish interesting technology from compelling business

Nice to have

• Experience investing in early-stage technology companies through VC, angel investing or venture building
• Experience working closely with founders or early-stage startup teams
• Domain expertise in Industrial AI, Healthcare, Robotics or FinTech
• Native German speaker with established founder networks in the DACH region
