PRIVACY POLICY

1. Who We Are

Job Drop Berlin is operated by Cveta Stoeva / Malkite 5 LTD, Immanuelkirchstrasse 2B, 10405 Berlin, Germany. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect and process different types of personal data depending on how you use the site:

Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a job listing

Usage data — pages visited, time on site, referral source, device and browser type (collected via analytics)

IP address — collected automatically by our hosting provider in server logs and by analytics tools in anonymized form

Job submission data — company name, job title, URL, and optional contact email when you post a listing

3. Why We Process Your Data

We process personal data for the following purposes:

• To deliver and improve the website (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

• To send you our newsletter after you subscribe (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

• To process job submissions (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

• To analyze site usage and improve the service (consent for analytics, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit the site, Vercel automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and the time of the request.

This data processing is necessary for delivering the website and is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of data protection for transfers to the United States.

5. Website Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

IP anonymization is active, meaning your IP address is shortened by Google within the European Union before transfer. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

We use Google Analytics based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data transfer to the USA is covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can prevent the collection of data by Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and optionally your preferred job category. This data is processed by Flodesk Inc., based in San Francisco, USA, which we use as our email marketing platform.

Your subscription is voluntary and based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter email, or by contacting us directly. Upon unsubscribing, your data will be deleted from our mailing list.

Flodesk stores data in the United States. The transfer is safeguarded by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

7. Data Storage

Job listings and newsletter subscriptions are stored using Supabase Inc., based in San Francisco, USA. Supabase provides managed database services. The data transfer is safeguarded by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

8. Local Storage (Bookmarks)

When you bookmark a job listing, the bookmark is stored exclusively in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can remove bookmarks at any time through the site or by clearing your browser data.

This storage is technically necessary to provide the bookmarking feature you explicitly requested and does not require consent (Section 25(2) TDDDG).

9. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use the following categories of cookies:

Analytics Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage. These are only activated with your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your cookies or using the Google Analytics opt-out tool linked in Section 5 above.

Withdraw Consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
