The Asset Manager (m/f/d) for BESS is responsible for the complete lifecycle management of our operational battery energy storage projects. This role is central to maximizing the long-term value of our assets by overseeing their technical performance and some elements of the commercial and financial performance.

What you'll do

  • Take full ownership of cost items, assist with the budgeting process, and assess feasibility of cost optimisation.
  • Proactively manage key project agreements, including O&M Contracts, Grid Connection Agreements, Land Lease Agreements, and Insurance Policies, ensuring all parties adhere to their obligations.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate and timely technical performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and senior management.
  • Oversee the O&M provider to ensure the highest levels of asset availability, performance, and safety.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze key BESS-specific performance indicators, such as Round-Trip Efficiency (RTE), State of Health (SoH), degradation, availability, and cycle rate against contractual guarantees.
  • Act as the primary interface with key equipment suppliers (battery, Power Conversion System (PCS), Energy Management System (EMS)) and manage warranty claims.
  • Ensure the projects comply with all technical, regulatory, and environmental requirements, including grid codes, permits, and health & safety regulations.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all project stakeholders, including grid operators, regulatory authorities, landowners, and insurers.

What you'll need

  • University degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial), or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in asset management, preferably within the renewable energy, power generation, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of the German energy market, including ancillary service markets.
  • Familiarity with energy systems, specifically inverter based technologies.
  • Fluency in both German and English.
  • Valid German driver's license (Class B) and willing to travel to operational sites.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Familiarity with project finance structures, SPV management, and lender requirements.
