Anti-Financial Crime Intern/Werkstudent

Join the Central Europe Anti-Financial Crime team to improve operational processes behind Qonto's German branch. You'll begin with a high-impact challenge: ensuring sensitive physical correspondence—including court documents, legal notices, seizures, and law-enforcement requests—is received, routed, tracked, and handled on time.

What you'll do

• Map the current physical-mail workflow and identify unclear ownership, bottlenecks, and missed handoffs.
• Design and maintain clear routing rules, trackers, ownership models, escalation paths, and follow-up routines for sensitive requests.
• Coordinate with AFC, AML, Fraud, Banking Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders to gather information and maintain visibility on open actions.
• Help organize the Product × AFC feature-approval process, coordinating input from multiple MLROs across Europe.
• Experiment with AI to structure information, document workflows, and reduce repetitive coordination work while protecting sensitive information.

What you'll need

• You are an enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Economics, Marketing, or another relevant field.
• You are autonomous and accountable: you can take loosely defined problems, ask the right questions, and make concrete progress without step-by-step instructions.
• You are organized and rigorous, able to track multiple stakeholders, owners, deadlines, and dependencies.
• You learn quickly; previous AFC or banking experience is not required, but curiosity about financial crime and fintech is essential.
• You work confidently with Google Workspace. Familiarity with Notion is particularly useful.
• Professional English is required; German is a plus, Dutch an additional bonus.
• You are willing to experiment with AI while maintaining accuracy, judgment, and confidentiality.
