You mentor and empower a team of Anti-Financial Crime experts while serving as the primary escalation point for complex, high-risk transaction-based alerts and case investigations. You drive operational excellence through QA frameworks, SLA adherence, and strategic collaboration across 1st Line, 2nd Line, Product, Data, and Engineering teams.
What you'll do
- Mentor and empower a team of AFC experts, fostering continuous professional growth, identifying coaching opportunities, and transferring your deep industry knowledge
- Act as the primary escalation point for reviewing and triaging complex, high-risk transaction-based alerts and case investigations before routing them to the 2nd Line
- Ensure operational excellence by taking full ownership of the QA framework, ensuring strict adherence to investigation standards and SLAs in a high-volume environment
- Serve as the strategic liaison between 1st Line, 2nd Line, Product, Data, and Engineering teams to ensure compliance and to optimize workflows, tooling, and process automation
- Continuously identify emerging money laundering, terrorist financing, and financial crime trends to proactively refine operational controls and investigation procedures
What you'll need
- Several years of experience in an Anti-Money-Laundering/Anti-Financial Crime related operational role within fintech, payments, banking, or a comparable environment
- Deep understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing typologies, as well as other suspicious activities, and the operational controls required to effectively mitigate these risks
- Prior experience in people leadership and managing AFC Operations experts in a high-volume environment
- Proven ability to lead operational teams against clear SLAs, quality standards, and client outcome metrics while maintaining strong judgment under pressure
- Experience in improving operational processes, documentation, QA frameworks, tooling, and automation in partnership with Product, Data, and Engineering
- Excellent communication skills in English and German to lead the team effectively
