Legal Counsel | Legal AI Tech Scale-Up

As Legal Counsel, you join a legal team that sits close to product and engineering, working without artificial silos on contracts, compliance, and digital regulation. Day-to-day, you'll work with the wider team on how regulatory requirements translate into features, and with GTM on customer and procurement negotiations.

What you'll do

• Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements — enterprise customer contracts, publisher and partner agreements, vendor and procurement terms.
• Advise Product and Engineering on how legal and regulatory requirements translate into product decisions, early enough in the process to matter.
• Keep Legal at the front of the field: turn our own function into a working showcase of a fully automated LegalTech department, and make that visible internally and externally.
• Drive structured analysis of Legal processes to identify automation and AI opportunities and embed them into process redesign.
• Extend Legal's AI mandate beyond the function by advising on company-wide AI initiatives from a Legal and regulatory perspective.
• Build the legal toolkit: templates, playbooks, escalation thresholds and self-service guidance that let the business move.

What you'll need

• Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist:in): First and Second State Examination, both with above-average results.
• At least two years of post-qualification experience in an international law firm and/or in-house — ideally with commercial contracts you drafted and negotiated yourself.
• Commercial contracting: you can own B2B and SaaS agreements end to end, negotiate with enterprise counterparties, and tell which points are worth the fight and which are not.
• A genuine interest in LegalTech and AI regulation — you do not need to be an expert on day one; you do need to want to become one.
• Pragmatic and self-directed: you give answers people can act on, you are comfortable where there is no precedent to point at, and you would rather build the playbook than wait for one.
• Excellent drafting skills in German and English.
