Legal & Compliance Manager

Own the legal and compliance function across German and US entities. You will strengthen and advance the compliance posture while managing the contracts that run the business across EMEA and the US, including developing the ISO 27001 certification foundation as the company scales.

What you'll do

• Own commercial contract work across the customer, partner, and supplier lifecycle, including NDAs, data processing agreements, SaaS and master service agreements, distribution and reseller agreements, and supplier contracts
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts in German and English and across German and US law contexts, in close coordination with external law firms, and escalate complex or high-value matters to outside counsel
• Serve as the internal point of contact for legal and contractual questions across sales, partnerships, and operations, spanning both German and US operations
• Own and continuously develop the information security management system and drive ISO 27001 certification forward, including preparing for and leading audits
• Act as the internal owner steering the external information security officer and coordinating with the independent data protection officer
• Own customer and partner due diligence, managing security and compliance assessments for enterprise and critical infrastructure deals
• Track regulatory and customer requirements across markets, from GDPR to sector-specific expectations, and translate them into internal controls, policies, and audit-ready evidence

What you'll need

• Legal background, such as a law degree (First State Examination) or combined law and business degree (LL.B. or Wirtschaftsrecht)
• Relevant experience in in-house legal, compliance, or law firm environment, ideally in SaaS, technology, or regulated setting, comfortable working across multiple entities and jurisdictions
• Ability to negotiate and manage a wide range of stakeholders, from contract negotiations to working with customers' cyber security experts and data protection functions
• Work independently and in a structured way, comfortable coordinating and steering external experts
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate legal and compliance topics into clear guidance for non-experts
• Fluent in written and spoken German and English
