Working Student – AI Process & Business Excellence

As a Working Student in AI Process & Business Excellence, you will look at how work actually gets done at 1KOMMA5°, and then make it faster, cheaper and less manual. You will sit inside the Employee Technology team and work directly with the business functions that run our operations: Sales, Service, Finance, People and the country markets.

What you'll do

• Map and review existing business processes across markets, running user interviews with people doing the work, documenting current state, and measuring cycle times, handoffs and manual touchpoints
• Deliver improvements together with the team using existing toolsets (n8n, Google Workspace/AppScript, APIs and AI tooling) for smaller cases, and work alongside experts on more complex automations
• Test what you build and measure whether it actually saved time or resources
• Educate colleagues on quick wins and small changes they can make to their own workflow, running enablement sessions and building prompts and internal AI assistants for specific teams
• Benchmark job titles across the organisation against the market to understand role optimisation
• Bring numbers and data, not opinions, to all analysis and recommendations

What you'll need

• Enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the working student contract in Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration with technical focus, or comparable field
• Available for approximately 20 hours per week during semester
• First practical experience with process analysis, process modelling (e.g. BPMN) or operational improvement work from internship, working student role or university project
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling for real work, not just experimentation
• Experience with or strong willingness to quickly learn no-code/low-code automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier or similar)
• Basic scripting ability in Python, JavaScript/AppScript or similar, and comfort working with APIs and structured data
• Confident with spreadsheets and data analysis
• Strong people skills and ability to communicate at business level in English; German is a huge plus

• Based in or around Berlin or Hamburg with willingness to travel on occasion
