Own and execute German investment tax mechanics, regulatory reporting, and customer tax exemptions across daily KEST activities, Vorabpauschale calculations, MiKaDiv implementation, and loss pot management. Act as the primary business analyst translating German tax updates into automated core banking system logic.
What you'll do
- Own daily KEST activities, run controls, solve incidents and support the Product team
- Support Product in the complete execution lifecycle of the annual Vorabpauschale calculation under the German Investment Tax Act (InvStG)
- Support Product in the technical implementation and operational governance of MiKaDiv, lead data gathering throughout the custody chain, validate beneficial ownership timelines, and secure electronic transmission paths for UUID fetching from the BZSt
- Manage reporting and exception workflows surrounding non-withheld or uncollectible capital gains tax (NEK), ensuring seamless reporting logs to local tax offices via CPB
- Support CPB with FSAk submission and controls, and validate, track, and audit Non-Assessment Certificates (NV-Bescheinigungen)
- Oversee the automated real-time logic of Share Loss Pot and General Loss Pot, cross-pot optimization offsets, and cross-border loss pot transfers during account migrations or closures
- Blueprint and implement the technical logic for backward tax corrections in the event of an end-user's death, ensuring immediate freeze and retro-active dissolution of exemption orders and automated cross-year recalculation of loss pots
- Support CPB and Product in the generation of the annual German tax certificate (Jahressteuerbescheinigung)
What you'll need
- Deep expertise in German investment taxation, including KEST, Vorabpauschale, and loss pot mechanics
- Strong understanding of German tax regulatory reporting frameworks (MiKaDiv, NEK, FSAk, Jahressteuerbescheinigung)
- Experience translating complex tax requirements into technical system specifications
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across Product, Tech Engineering, and Compliance teams
- Proficiency with tax reporting systems and German tax office interfaces (BZSt, CPB)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
