Accounting Lead

Build the Finance function that carries the German Mittelstand through the energy transition. Take real ownership of Accounting and Finance Operations, with a clear center of gravity in Quote-to-Cash: how customer contracts turn into invoices, receivables, and recognized revenue in an energy scale-up.

What you'll do

• Take Q2C to the next level: own invoicing, AR, and dunning end to end. Redesign them into scalable, partly automated processes together with Business Ops, Sales, and Tech.
• Own Revenue Recognition across energy products, including PPA, spot, futures, and direct marketing. Write the policy, document it, and defend it with auditors.
• Own the monthly and annual close under HGB end to end. Set the standard, cadence, and quality bar.
• Redesign core Accounting processes with a focus on automation and build documentation for audit readiness.
• Lead the first full external audit as the single point of contact for auditors.
• Take full functional and disciplinary responsibility for your team, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and development.
• Work cross-functionally with Business Ops, Tech, Sales, Treasury/FP&A, external tax advisors, and auditors.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of hands-on Accounting experience with strong HGB foundation and ownership of monthly and annual close, including audit experience.
• Proven track record of structurally redesigning Quote-to-Cash – invoicing, AR, dunning, and revenue recognition – not simply running it.
• People leadership experience with full ownership: led at least two people and were responsible for hiring, performance, and development.
• Process design and automation mindset with opinions on modern, lean tool stacks.
• Business-fluent English and German at B2+ level.

Nice to have

• Experience in the energy market: PPA, spot, futures, or direct marketing.
• Experience with ERP selection or rollout.
• Familiarity with IFRS.
• Hands-on experience with DATEV, Moss, Airtable, n8n, and Langdock.
