Senior Director of Product, Consumer

As Director of Product for Self-Filing, you will own the core self-filing product lines for Taxfix and Steuerbot in Germany. You set the product vision, lead the strategy, and drive the quality of execution across a set of high-autonomy Builder teams, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer.

What you'll do

• Own the product vision and roadmap for self-filing in Germany and make it clear to the builders, commercial partner, and leadership.
• Shape the two-brand strategy for how Taxfix and Steuerbot evolve: where they converge and where they stay distinct.
• Build the AI-native product by applying AI as a design lens and reimagining filing from a once-a-year event into a year-round optimization experience.
• Grow beyond filing into wealth creation and shape the relationship to adjacent financial services.
• Be the definitive authority on the user through extensive user interviews and instincts from direct contact.
• Lead high-autonomy Builder teams, set the bar for craft, and create conditions where ambitious work and fast execution coexist.
• Prioritize ruthlessly in a competitive market by deciding what not to do as clearly as what to do.
• Treat experimentation as an engine of product decisions and push on A/B tests, bandits, and experimentation velocity.

What you'll need

• Led product at a high-growth B2C consumer tech company and delivered results under real commercial pressure, owning a multi-team product area.
• Grown a major product line in a fiercely competitive market and know how to decide what not to do.
• Shipped AI products that changed user behaviour in production at scale.
• Led people and raised the bar; people who worked with you got better.
• Built a product vision from scratch and got an organization to follow it because the argument was clear.
• Made hard trade-offs visible and held the line when everything felt urgent.
• Are genuinely AI-native and use AI daily in your own practice with workflows, coding assistants, and product problems.
• Fluent in English and German.
