Backend Engineer

In this role, you own the backend systems that make Nomerra reliable in production: agentic workflow engine, integrations, permissions, observability, deployment infrastructure, and monitoring. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to build production-grade backend systems for complex, high-stakes financial workflows.

What you'll do

• Own backend foundations for permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability
• Own hosted and self-hosted deployments, including infrastructure as code with Pulumi
• Improve reliability, performance, and security of production systems
• Collaborate closely with product and client-facing engineers to ship features fast without compromising quality
• Drive the AI-native product delivery process to ensure we ship high quality software at market-leading pace

What you'll need

• Backend engineering experience in a fast-paced environment with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, Azure, or comparable platforms
• Care deeply about reliability, observability, and simple architecture
• Excellent communication skills and can effectively reduce complexity for your team
• Ability to learn fast and ship across our TypeScript monorepo: NestJS, Postgres, Prisma, Inngest, Mastra, React, TanStack, and Tailwind
