Site Reliability Engineer - Observability

About the role

Site Reliability Engineer joining the Observability group inside Platform Engineering. You'll build the tools for monitoring and measuring infrastructure, microservices, and unique workloads, putting developer experience at the front of your mind while contributing to understanding and preventing incidents through tooling, automation, and people-centered processes.

What you'll do

• Build tools for monitoring and measuring infrastructure, microservices, and unique workloads
• Put developer experience at the front of your mind and implementations
• Contribute deeply to understanding and preventing incidents through tooling, automation, and people-centered processes
• Use automation to speed up repetitive tasks and contribute to security and compliance of the tech stack
• Help colleagues understand observability data so they can measure and monitor their applications and recover quickly from incidents

What you'll need

• Understanding of the basic building blocks of observability: metrics, logs, and traces
• Experience using tools to extract data (Prometheus, StatsD, OpenTelemetry libraries), transform data (Vector, Beats, FluentBit), and load data (OpenSearch, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
• Solid skills with at least one glue language like GoLang or Python
• Ability to build in a cloud-only environment with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and AWS CDK
• Deep understanding of Linux
