Sr. Manager - Accounting

Your mission as Senior Accounting Manager is to professionalize and scale financial processes so they keep pace with the expanding footprint. You will ensure reporting is dead-accurate, the close process is smooth, and the leadership team always knows exactly where the business stands.

What you'll do

• Drive a fast, flawless month-end and year-end close. Roll up your sleeves and be completely hands-on with General Ledger (GL) and group accounting (HGB), while overseeing and guiding teams who handle AP and AR.
• In close collaboration with FP&A, own and continuously evolve the existing Chart of Accounts so it accurately captures real-world e-commerce operations.
• Identify bottlenecks in daily financial operations and eliminate them. Be the architect of the underlying accounting processes, ensuring workflows are scalable, efficient, and ready for hyper-growth.
• Act as the critical link between operational accounting and financial planning. Ensure cost center allocations and reporting structures provide high-quality, reliable data for the leadership team.
• Lead statutory reporting and external audits across European entities. Take charge of regulatory and statistical reporting and ensure data foundation needed for tax compliance.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls that make sense for a scale-up.

What you'll need

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or comparable qualification
• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally built in a top audit firm (Big 4) and then in-house at a fast-scaling startup, D2C, or FMCG brand.
• Know German GAAP (HGB) inside and out and be comfortable managing financial reporting of a multi-entity group structure.
• Understand the business behind the numbers with practical experience in inventory accounting, supply chains, and high-volume B2C transactions.
• Strategic thinker who can discuss consolidated results with the CFO and reconcile a messy GL account yourself.
• Fluent/native-level German for authorities and excellent English communication skills.
