Head of Accounting

As Head of Accounting, your mission is to professionalize and scale our financial processes so they keep pace with our expanding footprint. You will ensure our reporting is dead-accurate, our close process is smooth, and our leadership team always knows exactly where we stand.

What you'll do

• Drive a fast, flawless month-end and year-end close, rolling up your sleeves with General Ledger and group accounting while overseeing AP and AR teams.
• Own and continuously evolve our Chart of Accounts so it accurately captures our e-commerce operations and adapts to the business.
• Identify bottlenecks in daily financial operations and eliminate them, architecting scalable, efficient accounting processes ready for hyper-growth.
• Act as the critical link between operational accounting and financial planning, ensuring cost center allocations and reporting structures provide reliable data for leadership.
• Lead statutory reporting and external audits across European entities, managing regulatory and statistical reporting and ensuring data foundation for tax compliance.
• Establish standard operating procedures and internal controls that introduce necessary corporate maturity without suffocating the business.

What you'll need

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or comparable qualification.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally built in a Big 4 audit firm and proven in-house at a fast-scaling startup, D2C, or FMCG brand.
• Deep knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and experience managing financial reporting of multi-entity group structures.
• Proven track record building and leading teams in fast-growing organisations.
• Practical experience with inventory accounting, supply chains, and high-volume B2C transactions.
• Fluent/native-level German for authorities and excellent English communication skills.
