Senior Data Scientist, Central Data Products

At the Central Data Products team, you'll be a key part of an inclusive, high-impact team working closely with Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, and business stakeholders to shape how we use AI across the marketplace. You'll have the opportunity to work with millions of images and use ML/AI models to enhance image quality, relevance, and compliance.

What you'll do

• Develop innovative data products that not only enable suppliers to delight our customers but also drive the success of our company.
• Take full ownership of projects, guiding them from the initial business challenge to the deployment of production code.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover meaningful insights, build and maintain robust data pipelines, and establish rigorous evaluation and monitoring strategies.
• Monitor and optimize data products after deployment, including establishing in-production guardrails.
• Contribute to the development of machine learning infrastructure and help establish best practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional technology and business teams to solve complex problems.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience deploying ML models in production coupled with a solid understanding of ML techniques and their practical applications.
• Ability to turn data into actionable insights for business stakeholders, with experience in hypothesis testing and proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., pandas/polars) and SQL/Spark.
• Experience working in production with prompt design, tool use, orchestration (e.g., LangChain), retrieval/RAG, evaluator design, guardrails, and tracing/observability.
• Software Engineering proficiency in Python and knowledge of distributed machine learning and computing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
• Experience in a fast-paced business environment, demonstrating result-driven work.
• Strong skills in explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• An advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
