Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript, Next.js / Node.js)

Join our Engineering team in Berlin as a Senior Software Engineer to help provide a seamless web experience that enables users to find the Smart Shopping capability that best matches their intent through search, navigation, and a personalized home page. You'll be directly involved in building and enhancing the digital destinations our users rely on throughout their shopping journeys.

What you'll do

• Design and develop modern architectures using NEXT.JS, AWS technologies, Microservices, NoSQL, and event-driven architectures.
• Take ownership of solution architecture, improving performance, security, scalability, modularity, and operational efficiency.
• Drive feature development from inception to delivery, contributing to an ambitious product roadmap.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and hands-on exposure to emerging technologies.
• Foster an open communication culture, encouraging feedback and supporting conflict resolution.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Next.js / Node.js, with experience building reusable libraries using an atomic design system.
• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and concurrent event-based systems.
• Advanced knowledge of TypeScript, including its environment and type system.
• Extensive expertise in GraphQL.
• Keen architectural mindset with an eye for application design patterns.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Apollo GraphQL.
• Experience with PHP Symfony.
• Experience working with AWS cloud.
• Basic understanding of SQL databases and schema-less concepts.
• Knowledge of E2E testing (e.g., WebdriverIO, Selenium, or similar tools).
