As the technical authority, you will spearhead the BPMED stack architecture end-to-end — from first-principles modelling through to novel system designs that redefine what our technology can do. You'll combine deep theoretical understanding with hands-on engineering execution: building rigorous predictive models, identifying fundamental performance limits, and inventing your way past them.
What you'll do
- Own and advance first-principles BPMED stack models.
- Conceive and execute original design innovations to push performance boundaries.
- Turn experimental data into predictive tools that accelerate scale-up.
- Lead key supplier and research institute partnerships.
- Mentor and build a lean electrochemical engineering team.
What you'll need
- Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
- 5+ years in an industrial electrochemical environment (ED/BPMED, chlor-alkali, desalination, large-scale electrolysis).
- Hands-on engineering experience taking designs from concept through to industrial-scale implementation.
- Demonstrated track record of innovation — novel stack designs, process improvements, or performance breakthroughs in a real-world setting.
- Experience working with hardware suppliers, research institutes, or industrial consortia.
- Valid Work Permit for Germany, or able to obtain one.
