Your mission

Join us in advancing the chemistry that sits at the heart of our Direct Air Capture technology. As a Junior Scientist on the Kinetics & Solvent team, you'll run lab-scale experiments that directly inform how we develop and optimise our solvent systems — working at the intersection of chemistry, electrochemistry, and material science.

You'll work in a hands-on research environment with fast feedback loops, where your experimental results feed directly into system design and development decisions.

Key points

  • Run lab-scale experiments to develop and test solvent systems.
  • Analyse reaction kinetics and translate results into actionable insights for the R&D team.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation, protocols, and a safe lab environment.

Your profile

Skills & Experience

  • Msc.  in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Material science or related field with solid hands-on lab experience
  • Independent and rigorous in wet lab work and analytical techniques (spectroscopy, chromatography, electrochemical characterisation)
  • Asks critical scientific questions — you challenge assumptions, not just execute protocols
  • Strong experimental track record: designing, running, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
Workstyle and culture
  • Thinks in systems and owns outcomes — not just tasks
  • Fast learner who quickly grasps complex topics and stays curious about the problem, not just the solution
  • Combines scientific rigour with pragmatic, hands-on, build-and-learn instincts
  • Authentic, reflective, and self-organised — brings structure without losing speed
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and effective at working across cross-functional teams
  • Clear and direct communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with strong active listening skills
Other
  • Valid Work Permit for Germany, or able to obtain a permit
  • Location: Exiting industrial Co-Working Space in Marzahn where we have our own industrial halls to build

Benefits

  • Unique experience contributing to a first-of-a-kind climate-tech project (tFOAK).
  • A steep learning curve, exposure to cross-functional challenges, and the ability to shape a project from the ground up.
  • Fast-paced, collaborative environment where your decisions have a real impact.
  • Competitive compensation and personal growth opportunities.
  • Employee stock options
  • Learning and development Budget
  • Regular team events
  • Subsidized BVG ticket
  • Laptop and your individual work set up
