Financial Accountant

As a (Senior) Financial Accountant, you will be part of the Finance Team and report to the VP of Finance & Legal. You will be expected to proactively and continuously develop existing accounting processes and participate in projects to automate our accounting processes and make them more efficient.

What you'll do

• Record monthly journal entries based on German GAAP/HGB (accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts).
• Maintenance of master data as well as reconciliation and management of AP and AR accounts.
• Full ownership of the DATEV general ledger infrastructure, maximizing DATEV Unternehmen Online workflows/interfaces, and managing automated transaction pipelines.
• Account monitoring and processing of open items lists and processing of provisions and accrual/deferral bookings.
• Payment transactions, creation of payment runs, and operational liquidity management, working closely with our FP&A / Financial Controlling department.
• Independent execution of monthly closing activities.
• Preparation of annual financial statements in coordination with our tax advisors, execution of year-end closing entries alongside the tax advisor, and preparation of corresponding documentation.
• Handles the preparation and submission of VAT, EC Sales List (ZM), and OSS tax returns.

What you'll need

• Experience with German GAAP/HGB accounting standards
• Proficiency with DATEV accounting software
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes
• Experience with monthly and year-end closing procedures
• Knowledge of German VAT and tax compliance requirements
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
