About the role
As Product Manager for Electronic Warfare, you will lead product work across offboard and cross-platform EW capabilities: from problem framing and discovery, through requirements definition and roadmap, to release and iteration in production. You will work directly with EW operators, analysts, and mission planners in their environments, translating complex and often ambiguous operational inputs into precise product requirements.
What you'll do
- Own the product scope for offboard and cross-platform EW capabilities — leading problem framing, discovery, requirements, roadmap, and release across the full product lifecycle
- Engage directly with EW operators, analysts, and mission planners in their working environments, converting operationally complex and often second-hand inputs into clear, actionable product specifications
- Define and continuously improve the workflows by which customers adapt Helsing's products to their own data environments and operational contexts under security and data-availability constraints
- Drive the end-to-end process by which mission-critical data products are built, validated, and rolled out across teams and platforms — maintaining rigour at every stage
- Facilitate clear decision-making across a cross-functional team spanning RF, embedded software, ML, and ground-side tooling — making trade-offs visible and ensuring they are resolved with appropriate urgency
- Establish and maintain a regular, reliable shipping cadence into production environments where the conditions for frequent deployment are difficult by default
What you'll need
- Have built and shipped data- or ML-driven products to specialist professional users in complex, high-stakes, or regulated domains — with real operational consequences for end users
- Have worked directly with end users in mission-critical or operational settings, translating ambiguous, real-world needs into precise and implementable product requirements
- Have successfully integrated products into existing customer data sources, intelligence systems, and operational toolchains — and maintained a consistent production shipping cadence in constrained environments
- Engage substantively with engineering teams spanning RF hardware, embedded software, and machine learning — bringing enough technical fluency to make trade-offs legible and decisions well-founded
- Hold a degree in electrical engineering, physics, computer science, or a related STEM discipline
- Hold a valid work permit for Germany, are eligible to undergo a German government security clearance at SÜ2 level, and have professional proficiency in English alongside working proficiency in German (B1 or above)
Nice to have
- Experience building products for defence, government, or other mission-critical customers, particularly in data-scarce or security-constrained environments
- A background in radar, RF, or electronic warfare — whether academic, industrial, or operational
- Direct experience with offboard EW, including mission data analysis workflows, or with cross-platform and networked EW architectures
What they offer
- Competitive salary and VSOP options
- Relocation support: up to €2,500 and 4 weeks temporary accommodation
- Learning: €500/£450 yearly allowance
- Health & wellness: gym membership and mental health support
- Enhanced parental leave: 22 weeks fully paid for primary caregivers & 6 weeks for secondary caregivers
- Regular company events and monthly social allowances
