About the role
Urban Sports Club is building a security function that moves with heart and mind. As a Security Engineer you will work across the full security landscape – from application security to cloud runtime to development pipelines and AI – bringing genuine breadth alongside real depth in your domain specialisations.
What you'll do
- You partner with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to identify and mitigate security risks across our cloud, application, and AI/ML environments
- You lead security initiatives in your specialist area – whether that is AI/ML Security, DevSecOps, Application/Product Security, or Cloud Security – while staying curious and contributing across different domains
- You design, build, and operate security controls, automation, and tooling that scale with a fast-growing platform
- You drive threat modelling, secure design reviews, and risk assessments for new features, services, and infrastructure changes
- You detect, respond to, and investigate security incidents; own root cause analysis and drive post-incident improvements
- You translate complex security topics into clear, actionable language for technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level leadership
- You track the evolving threat landscape, with particular attention to AI/ML attack surfaces and AI-assisted security tooling
What you'll need
- 5+ years of hands-on security engineering (or equivalent) in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Deep expertise in at least one domain: AI/ML Security, DevSecOps, Application/Product Security, or Cloud Security
- Strong builder mindset: able to script, automate, write detections, and review architectures/designs
- Understanding of modern threats (e.g., AI/ML risks, software supply chain, API and cloud security)
- Excellent communicator across technical and executive audiences
- Ability to work autonomously, set direction, and thrive in ambiguous, collaborative environments
Nice to have
- Experience with platform/marketplace products, Kubernetes security in AWS/GCP, EU regulations (GDPR, NIS2, DORA), and scripting (Python, Go)
What they offer
- Free Urban Sports Club L Pro Membership plus Friends and Family Discount
- Hybrid work setup with up to 120 days remote within EU, UK, and Switzerland
- 30 days paid vacation annually, plus two additional days for volunteering
- Annual budget of €1,000 for professional development and training
- Complimentary access to mental health provider Open Up
- Regular team and company events plus wellness initiatives
