About the role
We are seeking a skilled and innovative crystallization expert to join our dynamic team focused on developing next generation of lithium-sulfur battery technology. This role focuses on developing high-quality 3-dimensional monolithic sulfur-based wafers for use in our lithium-sulfur batteries.
What you'll do
- Design and execute experiments to grow 3-dimensional polycrystalline sulfur wafers using solution-based crystallization.
- Optimize crystallization process to maintain a high degree of control over porosity, uniformity and thickness of the grown sulfur wafer.
- Investigate growth mechanisms and establish robust protocols for consistent and scalable wafer production.
- Design and implement nanomaterial seeding strategies to modulate and control crystal growth sulfur.
- Perform comprehensive material characterization using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and spectroscopy methods.
- Work cross-functionally with scientists, engineers, and external partners to advance sulfur wafer growth technologies.
What you'll need
- PhD in Materials Sciences, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field with a focus on crystal growth.
- Demonstrated expertise in solution-based crystal growth, wafer crystallization, and related techniques.
- Proficiency in advanced material characterization methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of scientific publications or patents.
- Fluent in speaking English.
