Raisin is looking for a highly motivated, driven, and experienced Director of Engineering to lead both strategically and operationally the Investment and Pension (IPP) teams (25+ engineers). This embraces high-quality conceptual and delivery performance of the teams, the health of the IPP engineering organization and system landscape, an efficient and compliant development process, technical and business ownership of Raisin's IPP platform, and vendor relationships.
What you'll do
- Be accountable for fulfilling agreed team commitments to Business-owners in time, scope, and budget; responsible for team performance and resolving impediments
- Drive long-term value creation for the domain by fostering passion and building resilient domain expertise in teams
- Shape technical strategy for teams according to Raisin's business needs and collaborate on company-wide Tech Strategy
- Manage team health, resilience, high performance, and development; attract, hire, and retain diverse technical talent
- Drive, improve, and apply Raisin standards, policies, regulation and data privacy; reduce technical debt through continuous monitoring and initiatives
- Lead complex technical and important business projects; organize workshops and represent the company at external tech events
What you'll need
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
- Leadership experience 10+ years as senior engineering leader across projects and teams with passion for growing high-performing teams
- At least 4 years experience in FinTech; domain knowledge of Investment products is a strong advantage
- Strong AWS knowledge, Java, SQL, Kafka or other messaging solutions
- Strong business mindset with pragmatic approach to balancing taking and delegating lead in challenging situations
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal; experience with OKR and KPI-based target agreements
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German or another European language would be a plus
