Handle day-to-day accounting operations working 20-25 hours per week, closely with our finance team and external tax advisors. This role is perfect for someone who wants solid accounting work without the pressure of a full-time position.

What you'll do

  • Assist the team with managing the relationship with external accounting and tax partners, ensuring the seamless and timely transfer of all required financial data and supporting documentation.
  • Process invoices, manage payments and reconcile transactions. Ensure timely and accurate recording of all transactions in our systems.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in SAP, Finway, and DATEV. Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions. Support preparation of audit materials and work with external tax advisors on compliance.
  • Process employee expense reports and company credit card transactions. Ensure policy compliance and proper documentation.
  • Provide data and analysis to support monthly management reporting and financial planning activities.

What you'll need

  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, food industry, or growth companies. Solid foundation in bookkeeping and financial accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficient with accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with SAP, DATEV, or similar systems preferred. Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Solid understanding of HGB, double-entry bookkeeping, and German accounting standards. Experience with manufacturing accounting is a plus.
  • Sharp eye for accuracy, catch errors quickly, and maintain high standards in your work. You're organized and reliable.
  • Clear communication skills for coordinating with team members, external advisors, and vendors. Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Fluent German required. Good English written and verbal.
  • 20-25 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Core hours at our Berlin office with some remote work possible once established.
