IT Systems & Automation Engineer

You'll combine hands-on IT operations with continuous process improvement across identity and access management, employee and endpoint lifecycle, automation, and compliance. Your main goal will be to make n8n's IT operations reliable, secure, and scalable while reducing manual work through thoughtful, maintainable automation.

What you'll do

• Own day-to-day identity and access management across Okta, Google Workspace, GitHub, and connected SaaS applications.
• Manage employee and application lifecycle workflows, including provisioning, access changes, group assignments, troubleshooting, and deprovisioning.
• Deliver reliable and timely onboarding and offboarding experiences in close partnership with People, Finance, managers, and application owners.
• Manage and troubleshoot n8n's primarily macOS device fleet through endpoint management tooling.
• Design and build secure automations for recurring IT processes using n8n, APIs, scripting, and AI-assisted tooling.
• Provide responsive L1/L2 IT support while using recurring issues to identify opportunities for systemic improvement.
• Create and maintain clear runbooks, process documentation, escalation paths, and operational controls.
• Support security and compliance activities, including access reviews, audit evidence collection, SOC 2, and ISO 27001-related processes.

What you'll need

• 2–4 years of experience in IT systems administration, SaaS administration, IAM, workplace engineering, or a similar role within a SaaS, cloud-first, or distributed company.
• Hands-on experience with Google Workspace and an identity provider such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience managing onboarding, offboarding, groups, roles, access changes, application assignments, and secure deprovisioning.
• Experience administering macOS devices through an MDM platform such as Kandji, Jamf, JumpCloud, Workspace ONE, or comparable tool.
• Demonstrated experience improving or automating an operational process using APIs, scripting, workflow automation platforms, or AI-assisted tooling.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication concepts, and integration troubleshooting.
• Strong ownership, sound judgment, and a thoughtful approach to privileged access and sensitive data.
• Clear communication, thorough documentation, and a service mindset toward internal users.

Nice to have

• Experience with n8n or another workflow automation platform such as Zapier or Make.
• Basic scripting experience using Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
• Experience with SAML, OIDC, SSO, and SCIM.
• GitHub organisation and team administration experience.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, access reviews, or audit evidence collection.
