About the role
As a Senior Product Engineer, you will own products and features end-to-end. You will be the bridge between technical implementation, product design, and user experience, working directly on Ojin to build everything from high-end interactive frontends to complex backend agentic systems.
What you'll do
- Drive features and projects from abstract concepts to production deployment, taking ownership across UI/UX design, product logic, and technical implementation.
- Architect and build core web infrastructure using TypeScript, React, and Node.js, ensuring user-facing applications are responsive, intuitive, and robust.
- Develop and maintain Python backends for AI capabilities, including proxy services, agentic systems, and conversational AI flows.
- Design scalable backend systems, considering trade-offs around performance and scalability, and drive architectural decisions that balance speed of delivery with long-term reliability.
- Collaborate closely with founders, designers, and other engineers to shape the product roadmap and technical strategy.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Startup experience — you have navigated the ambiguity of early-stage companies and know how to move fast without breaking things.
- Strong hands-on skills in Frontend (React, TypeScript) and Backend (Node.js, TypeScript), and comfortable owning features across the entire stack independently.
- Proficiency in Python and experience or strong ambition to build backend systems for AI agents and conversational interfaces.
- Enthusiasm about UI/UX, product design, and making trade-offs that benefit the customer.
- Professional fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Nice to have
- Experience with WebRTC and WebSockets for real-time applications.
- Experience with performance optimization for global, low-latency systems.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC, AWS CDK) and AWS.
- Background in building developer tools, API platforms, or AI-enabled products.
What they offer
- High degree of autonomy and direct impact on product direction.
- Remote-first culture with Berlin HQ; work from anywhere within CET +/- 2 hours.
- 28 days of paid vacation plus 1 mental health day per year.
- Annual education budget of €900 for professional development.
- Home office equipment provided.
