About the role
BER3 is Hive's Berlin flagship and the site where new processes, tools, and automation are piloted before scaling across the network. You'll own the site end-to-end: its people, performance, P&L, and standard of excellence, leading ~200 associates through a team of Area Managers in a hands-on leadership role.
What you'll do
- Own the building end-to-end, taking full accountability for BER3's P&L, productivity, quality, safety and team health, hitting monthly, quarterly and annual budget targets.
- Run safe, high-quality daily operations with focus on associate safety, order accuracy, and customer NPS, maintaining visible presence on the floor with regular Gemba walks and shift-start presence during peaks.
- Lead and grow people through weekly 1:1s with Area Managers, clear growth paths, honest feedback, and building a skills matrix with successors.
- Drive improvement and innovation by piloting new processes, tools and automation with a try-fast, learn-fast mindset, bringing at least one measurable improvement initiative per quarter.
- Communicate and collaborate through clear writing (SOPs, post-mortems), structured presentations, and owning escalations end-to-end including fast response on critical incidents.
What you'll need
- Several years leading a fulfillment center, warehouse or 3PL operation at scale, with direct P&L ownership
- A genuine hands-on, people-first leadership style and a never-give-up attitude
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable with data, able to read a P&L and act on it
- A proactive, solution-first problem-solver who surfaces issues early and brings suggestions
- A proven track record of building and developing teams, and of working with a diverse, multicultural workforce
- Fluent English; German is a strong plus
Nice to have
- Lean / Six Sigma or similar continuous-improvement experience
- Familiarity with WMS systems and an interest in automation/AI in fulfillment
- Experience standing up new processes or sites
