Head of Cost Optimization Building System

Lead the establishment of a first-class Cost Optimization function for our building systems. At the intersection of product development, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and construction execution, you will shape the cost competitiveness of our products across the entire lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Definition and leadership of the Cost Optimization strategy for Building Systems to ensure cost competitiveness, scalability, and value creation across the entire product portfolio
• Joint development and implementation of Design-to-Cost, Should-Costing, Value Engineering, and Target-Costing methods across product development, manufacturing, procurement, and construction execution
• Systematic identification, assessment, and prioritization of cost optimization potentials for building systems, components, materials, and interfaces
• Development of transparent cost models and feedback loops to enable continuous learning from planned and realized costs
• Leadership and further development of the Cost Optimization team and establishment of clear standards, processes, and competencies to support company growth
• Close collaboration with leaders from Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Construction, and R&D to anchor cost awareness in strategic and operational decisions

What you'll need

• Multiple years of experience in cost engineering, product costing, value engineering, cost optimization, or comparable commercial leadership role, ideally in construction or construction supply industry
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional cost reduction programs with measurable economic value
• Solid understanding of complex product and system cost structures including materials, manufacturing processes, supply chains, and assembly and installation costs
• Experience building and leading teams, collaborating with senior stakeholders, and managing organizational change
• Strong data-driven working approach and solid understanding of digital tools, data analytics, and performance management systems
• Willingness to travel regularly between our locations
• Fluent English

Nice to have

• Experience in industrialized construction, modular building systems, prefabrication, or highly automated manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of timber construction, building systems (MEP, facade and structural systems), the German-speaking construction market, and digital costing tools
• Lean Six Sigma certification and/or proven experience applying continuous improvement methods in complex operational environments
• Fluent German
