Analytics Engineer (Decision Logic / Rules) _metrify

You will develop mission-critical services, data workflows, and third-party integrations for metrify Smart Metering. Transform complex operational rules into clear, maintainable decision logic and build and optimize them in our data platform, working closely with Product and Operations teams to ensure automation is correct, scalable, and auditable.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain robust data models that support regulatory market communication, device operations, and forecasting use cases.
• Ensure data quality and process reliability by analyzing data quality, detecting anomalies, and proposing improvements across metering and backend processes.
• Translate and operationalize complex rules by converting regulatory and operational requirements into precise, maintainable, and auditable decision logic within our data platform.
• Structure and validate business requirements by transforming ambiguous needs into clear, testable rule definitions with strong traceability.
• Implement and optimize rule-driven logic using SQL and Python within our tech stack (Snowflake, Azure), ensuring performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams while maintaining clear documentation of rule behavior, dependencies, and change history.

What you'll need

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in Data Analysis or Analytics Engineering, ideally in an infrastructure-heavy or regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and large, complex datasets, including raw time series data, and ability to clean and transform data into actionable insights.
• Experience translating operational rules into decision logic.
• Fluent English communication; German is a strong plus.
• Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams and take ownership beyond writing queries.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Azure, Snowflake, dbt, or data modeling concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling, staging layers).
• Experience with energy market data flows or smart metering.
