About the role
Your mission is to bridge the gap between "infrastructure" and "developer success". You will transform our platform from a set of tools and processes into a cohesive internal product and lead a team of engineers through a period of growth to establish a "paved road" that allows our product teams to ship with zero friction.
What you'll do
- Define what good looks like and how to become a high performing team, working together with our Staff Engineer
- Oversee delivery timelines and scope, making highly impactful decisions focused on work done rather than ticket throughput
- Work with ambiguous requirements and turn them into concrete deliverables, making trade-off decisions
- Act as a coach and talent magnet, responsible for growth, performance, and structure of the Platform unit
- Drive Platform excellence in developer experience, infrastructure and SRE
- Communicate regularly with other Engineering Managers, manage expectations and hold them accountable for delivery dependencies
What you'll need
- Track record of taking complex initiatives across the finish line with execution discipline
- High agency—you fix glaring problems by building the business case, getting buy-in, and delivering
- Ability to work with strong opinions while staying open to disagreement and commitment
- Experience building high-performing teams, ideally in Platform, Backend, or Data Engineering
- Motivation to solve hard problems and never leave work 80% finished
