As a Senior People Operations Manager, you own the most complex People Operations topics end to end. From compliance-critical areas like visas and work permits to the workflows connecting people tools, you'll be part of a small, close-knit People Operations Team managing high-volume ticket work while driving self-initiated improvement projects.
What you'll do
- Take full, end-to-end ownership of core People Operations topics — including onboarding, offboarding, contracts, payroll and documentation — from decision-making through execution.
- Own the preparation of monthly payroll runs, working closely with payroll provider and FOH Operations team to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Own employee compliance end to end: ensure correct contract type assignment, required documentation on file, and full ownership of visa and work permit processes for international staff.
- Manage and support the full workforce across multiple contract types and locations, ensuring correct setup, documentation, and ongoing administration.
- Manage high volume of incoming tickets and requests through People inbox/ticketing tools while maintaining high service standards.
- Act as trusted advisor to managers and employees on non-standard, complex, or sensitive matters, including drafting bespoke documentation and agreements.
- Proactively identify gaps and inefficiencies in People Operations processes and independently drive improvement projects.
- Design, build, and roll out automated workflows and integrations across tools including Leapsome, Asana, and Intercom.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in People Operations / HR administration, ideally in fast-paced, international, or scaling startup environment.
- Proven experience owning topics fully end to end — from decision-making to execution.
- Strong knowledge of German labor law and compliance requirements, including hands-on experience with visa and work permit processes.
- Experience managing or supporting employees across different contract types, locations and working models.
- Track record of designing and implementing process automation, workflow integrations, or AI-supported solutions in HR or operations context.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS tools (Leapsome or similar) and comfort working across multiple platforms.
- Fluency in English and German (minimum B2 German).
