About the role
As a Senior Engineer, you'll be a core part of a small, high-ownership TechOps function at Upvest. This is not an execution-only role. You're expected to bring ideas, challenge assumptions, flag risks early, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
What you'll do
- Own our core internal IT stack (i.e. Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, etc), user lifecycle management and security controls in close collaboration with our Security team
- Manage our Mac laptop fleet, zero-touch DEP/MDM device deployments, and ensure company endpoints meet the company's security standards
- Act as a trusted advisor to teams: evaluating, challenging, and prioritising tooling requests rather than simply fulfilling them
- Continuously look for ways to automate and improve processes across TechOps and every department we support, and take ownership of seeing those improvements through
- Actively leverage AI tools in your daily work to raise the quality and speed of your output, and help the broader team do the same
- Collaborate with the Security team on AI tool governance and how LLMs connect to internal systems, ensuring safe and controlled adoption
- Participate in response activities when a security event occurs
What you'll need
- Genuinely hands-on - comfortable owning support end-to-end across all levels, from basic helpdesk to complex technical issues
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, prioritise high-value work, and propose better alternatives
- Proven experience building and maintaining automations using tools like Okta Workflows, n8n, Tines, Make or similar
- Active, hands-on use of AI tools (LLMs, AI-assisted workflows, and similar) to meaningfully improve the quality and speed of your work
- Strong understanding of macOS and Apple device management (MDM/DEP)
- Prior experience with Okta, Google Workspace
- Excellent communication and task management skills
- Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Terraform in the context of infrastructure-as-code
- Knowledge of scripting languages or our tech stack (Golang, Python, Docker, k8s)
What they offer
- 30 days of annual leave and sports benefits
- Professional coaching and remote work flexibility up to 183 days per year
- UpRest: one-month fully paid sabbatical after every 4 years
- Personal development budget
- Competitive, above-market salary and employee equity program
- Work from Berlin, London or Tallinn hub hybrid or remotely across Europe
