About the role
As a Senior Android Engineer you will work as part of an agile, cross-functional team of designers and engineers to architect, develop, and maintain the Tandem Android app. You will focus on projects such as implementing social features, rapid experimentation of new experiences and ensuring that our users are aware of all Tandem has to offer.
What you'll do
- Architect, develop, and maintain the Tandem Android app
- Work on implementing social features
- Lead rapid experimentation of new experiences
- Ensure users are aware of all Tandem has to offer
- Drive and critique technical designs as the Android expert
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience with Kotlin/native app development
- Passion for clean architecture and SOLID principles
- Good experience of writing unit tests, including designing for testability and ideally TDD
- Experience on large apps with more than 100,000 users and a good level of complexity
- Experience working in close collaboration with marketing or growth functions
- Confidence to be the Android expert in the room and happy to both drive and critique technical designs
Nice to have
- Experience building realtime chat services
- Experience with Kotlin multiplatform
- Experience building apps that handle realtime media (audio / video)
