About the role

You will contribute to "Data Governance-as-Code" initiatives by helping to automate governance checks as part of the software development lifecycle used by engineering teams to enforce continuous compliance for data assets. You will apply technical skills in Python and SQL to automate routine data management tasks and support organisation-wide initiatives focused on data protection and regulatory compliance.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to "Data Governance-as-Code" initiatives by helping to automate governance checks as part of the software development lifecycle
  • Use automation expertise to support organisation-wide initiatives focused on data protection and meeting regulatory requirements including EU GDPR and DORA
  • Apply technical skills in Python and SQL to automate routine data management tasks, such as performing checks to ensure data is correctly labeled and categorised
  • Support the Data Steward in maintaining and updating the central inventory of data assets and ensure data ownership is clearly recorded

What you'll need

  • Currently studying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, data science, business informatics or comparable course of study
  • Experience in SQL and basic understanding of relational databases, data modeling and API integration
  • Experience (or strong interest) in using Python for task automation
  • Utilise Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cutting-edge AI/LLM tools
  • Structured, independent and responsible working style with collaborative communication skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Availability 16-20 hours per week

  • Enthusiasm about process automation and interest in "governance-as-code" practices
  • Experience finding elegant solutions to complex problems
