About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape Ostrom's next generation of consumer energy products. You will work across mobile app experiences, smart device integrations, tariffs, growth, and retention, translating complex energy logic into simple, trustworthy, and useful customer journeys.

What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end product design process, from problem and solution discovery to wireframing, prototyping, and producing impact-driving designs ready for engineering delivery.
  • Translate complex energy products such as tariffs, smart devices, automation, and optimisation into simple, trustworthy customer experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, the tech team, and stakeholders to define requirements, facilitate workshops, and deliver designs that align with business and customer goals.
  • Support product managers to develop and maintain a prioritised product roadmap that maintains a high bar for design and user experience.
  • Maintain and elevate design processes and artefacts such as design systems, tooling, standards, and collaboration methods.
  • Mentor and support another product designer and help establish pragmatic design rituals and standards.
  • Use user research, product metrics, usability testing, and design expertise to advocate for how customers think and what good user experience means for them.

What you'll need

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Designer, with clear ownership of complex mobile or web product experiences in a fast-paced startup or tech company.
  • User-centric and naturally curious, knowing how to do user research, usability testing, and hypotheses validation.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, visual design, and interaction design.
  • Strong UI judgment: Design patterns, hierarchy, spacing, typography, accessibility, and overall interaction quality.
  • Experience contributing to and improving design systems that ensure products are cohesive and consistent.
  • Strong ability to simplify complex product logic, data, settings, and system states into clear user experiences.
  • Great stakeholder management skills, including communication, alignment, and gathering feedback.
  • Strong command of English.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with B2C products that involve displaying complicated data and settings using statistics and data visualisation techniques.
  • Experience with front-end development and software engineering.
  • Experience with micro-animations and interaction styles.
  • Strong command of German.

What they offer

  • Competitive salary with stock options to be part of the company's journey.
  • Hybrid work model within Germany with offices in Berlin Mitte.
  • Annual learning budget and company-pension scheme.
  • Visa and relocation support.
  • Benefits including BVG public transport ticket, lunch benefit, Job Rad, e-Bike or e-Moped options.
