As a Senior Engineer on the Growth team, your mission is to build and iterate on features and systems that drive user acquisition, activation, retention and monetization — ultimately accelerating n8n's self-serve growth engine. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, marketing, and engineering peers to improve the entire Cloud user journey from sign-up to subscription.
What you'll do
- Take ownership of flows like signup, onboarding, and the admin dashboard to ensure a smooth, performant experience for every new user
- Design, build, and A/B test new features to increase conversion and retention — think upgrade flows, contextual prompts, or new pricing nudges
- Help build and optimize services to enable user growth at scale, like in-app messaging platforms, billing systems, and email orchestration tools
- Track performance, identify areas to improve, and ship iteratively to increase activation and retention
What you'll need
- 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and Vue or React (plus HTML/CSS/UI libraries)
- You've owned growth metrics: product activation, retention, or revenue, on a growth or PLG team at a SaaS company
- You've shipped experiments yourself, from hypothesis to ship/kill decision
- Product mindedness: you can ship without a PM and make the right call most of the time
- Data fluency: you can query data yourself and make decisions from user behaviour and experiments
- Comfort with ambiguity: you don't wait for perfect specs or designs
- Speed + ownership mindset: you move fast but responsibly, understanding that experimentation and velocity are core to unlocking growth
Nice to have
- Exposure to pricing strategy, funnel optimization, or revenue KPIs
- Past experience as a founder or early-stage startup engineer
What they offer
- Competitive compensation with equity
- 30 days vacation (Europe) or 20 vacation + 8 sick days (US)
- Health and wellness benefits according to local country norms
- Pension contributions (Europe) or 401(k) with 4% match (US)
- €1,000 per year for professional development
- Remote-first with regular team off-sites
