About the role

Your main goal will be to support community-driven development at n8n by reviewing community PRs, vetting community nodes, and improving how external contributions become reliable product improvements. You'll work closely with the team to keep community contribution flows moving smoothly and help automate how they manage them.

What you'll do

  • Review community PRs with clear, actionable feedback and help maintain a two-week review SLA.
  • Guide contributors through the review process so they understand what is needed to move their PRs forward.
  • Debug and fix bugs across the n8n codebase that impact contributors, nodes, or workflow behavior.
  • Work with external APIs, SDKs, authentication flows, and node logic to identify root causes and ship reliable fixes.
  • Vet community nodes to help ensure they meet n8n's quality, security, and usability expectations.
  • Make targeted docs tweaks that help users and contributors understand how to build, test, and improve workflows.

What you'll need

  • Strong hands-on experience building, debugging, and maintaining production-quality JavaScript or TypeScript code.
  • Ability to investigate bugs in a codebase with external dependencies such as APIs, SDKs, and third-party services.
  • Understanding of REST APIs and common authentication methods such as OAuth and API keys.
  • Familiarity with n8n or workflow automation, with basic node development as a strong plus.
  • Comfort using CLI tools and package managers such as npm or pnpm.
  • Clear written communication in async community settings such as PR comments and contributor discussions.
  • Detail orientation and collaborative mindset with low ego and openness to feedback.

Nice to have

  • Experience contributing to open-source projects, including small fixes or documentation updates.
  • Community-facing technical experience supporting developers or contributors directly.
  • Experience in a Series A/B startup or developer tooling company.

What they offer

  • Competitive compensation and equity ownership.
  • 30 days vacation (Europe) or 20 vacation days plus 8 sick days (US), plus public holidays.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage according to local norms (Europe) or multiple low-premium plans (US).
  • Pension contributions (Europe) or 401(k) with 4% match (US).
  • 1000 EUR annually for courses, books, events, or coaching.
  • Remote-first with regular team off-sites; visa sponsorship available for Germany.
