Your main goal will be to support community-driven development at n8n by reviewing community PRs, vetting community nodes, and improving how external contributions become reliable product improvements.

What you'll do

  • Review community PRs with clear, actionable feedback and help maintain a two-week review SLA.
  • Guide contributors through the review process so they understand what is needed to move their PRs forward.
  • Help improve and automate the process of managing community contributions as n8n's builder community continues to scale.
  • Debug and fix bugs across the n8n codebase that impact contributors, nodes, or workflow behavior.
  • Work with external APIs, SDKs, authentication flows, and node logic to identify root causes and ship reliable fixes.
  • Vet community nodes to help ensure they meet n8n's quality, security, and usability expectations.
  • Make targeted docs tweaks that help users and contributors understand how to build, test, and improve workflows.

What you'll need

  • Strong hands-on experience building, debugging, and maintaining production-quality JavaScript or TypeScript code.
  • Ability to investigate bugs in a codebase with external dependencies such as APIs, SDKs, and third-party services.
  • Understanding of REST APIs and common authentication methods such as OAuth and API keys.
  • Understanding of how to build and test workflows, with basic node development as a strong plus.
  • Comfort using CLI tools and package managers such as npm or pnpm.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and constructively in async community settings such as PR comments, review threads, and contributor discussions.
  • Consistency in following up on open threads, bugs, reviews, and edge cases until they are resolved.
  • Low-ego, open to feedback, and motivated by helping others contribute successfully.

Nice to have

  • Experience contributing to open-source projects, even through small fixes, documentation updates, or community PRs.
