About the role
We are looking for a Senior Full-stack Engineer to join our Security Engineering team. In this role, you will be part of a small, high-impact, and independent team responsible for building and scaling the N26 Security Platform. This team acts as a central force within our security organization, building the internal products and automation engines that support multiple specialized teams across the company.
What you'll do
- Design and Own End-to-End Solutions: Lead the architectural design and implementation of full-stack features, from robust backend services to intuitive internal dashboards.
- Build the Security Platform: Develop tools and platforms that enable other security teams to automate threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management at scale.
- Enable the Organization: Act as a technical partner to various teams within the security department, building the shared infrastructure and automation they need to operate efficiently.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Choose the right tools for the job, maintaining a high bar for code quality, automated testing, and system reliability.
- Champion "You Build It, You Run It": Own the full lifecycle of your services, leveraging modern CI/CD practices and infrastructure-as-code to ensure seamless production deployments.
- Mentor & Influence: Share your full-stack expertise with the wider security organization, helping to foster a strong engineering culture within the department.
What you'll need
- Strong Full-Stack Foundation: 5+ years of experience building production-grade applications. You are a "solid" engineer who can navigate both backend architecture and frontend user experience with ease.
- Technical Versatility: Deep proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Go, or Java/Kotlin) and modern frontend frameworks (React is highly preferred).
- Self-Driven Independence: A proven track record of working effectively in small, autonomous teams. You are comfortable taking a vague problem and turning it into a concrete technical solution without heavy oversight.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Knowledge: Experience with AWS and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Quality Craftsmanship: A commitment to clean code, scalability, and building systems that are as secure as they are performant.
Nice to have
- Security Interest: While your primary strength is engineering, a strong interest in the security domain or prior experience with security automation tools (SAST/DAST, SIEM, SOAR) is a significant advantage.
What they offer
- Competitive personal development budget, work from home budget, discounts to fitness & wellness memberships
- Hybrid work model - office teamwork day plus day of choice, remote flexibility rest of time
- Premium N26 subscription for you and subscriptions for friends and family members
- Additional day of annual leave for each year of service
- High degree of autonomy and access to cutting edge technologies
- Relocation package with visa support for those who need it
