Senior Backend Engineer - Experimentation

About the role

We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Domain in the Experimentation team. The mission of the Experimentation team is to enable N26 engineering teams to make data driven decisions when it comes to launching new features and products.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment.
• Collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology.
• Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product.

What you'll need

• Significant experience in developing software using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems.
• Solid experience with software development best practices and software architectures (Distributed systems, Domain Driven Design, Testing).
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Previous experience with cloud architectures, preferably with AWS.
• Strong bias for action, and getting things done.
• Give and receive open, direct and timely feedback.

Nice to have

• Data Engineering hands-on experience
• Hands-on experience developing and/or operating event streaming platforms (preferably Kafka)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
