About the role
We're looking for a structured and forward-thinking F&A Manager who is eager to take ownership of our accounting operations and help shape a best-in-class Finance function. In this role, you will lead the day-to-day accounting activities, ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, and play a key role in optimizing processes as we continue to scale. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the business, guide the month-end and year-end close processes, and uphold compliance with all relevant accounting standards (HGB, IFRS).
What you'll do
- Lead and manage core accounting processes, driving accuracy, compliance, and continual improvements in financial operations
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance
- Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring timely processing, reconciliation, and smooth daily operations
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, championing improvements that elevate accuracy and efficiency
- Oversee audit preparation, coordinating with internal teams and external auditors to provide all necessary documentation and insights
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (HGB, IFRS) and internal policies, proactively monitoring regulatory updates and best practices
- Support budgeting and forecasting, collaborating closely with Finance leadership to provide data-driven insights and variance analysis
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
What you'll need
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally with leadership of core processes or teams; familiarity with Private Equity environments is a valuable asset
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an Audit/Accountant qualification is a plus
- Full professional fluency (written and verbal) in both German and English
- Proficiency in DATEV, with experience in other accounting platforms such as Xero, and strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-scaling environment
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying issues, implementing process improvements, and leveraging automation or AI-driven tools
