AI Platform Engineer - Unum

About the role

Build the core of Unum's "Enterprise Superintelligence platform" — whether that's shaping the user experience that drives adoption or the infrastructure and tooling that makes it all run.

What you'll do

• Build high impact applications and tools that accelerate Unum's solutions. Apply AI models in novel ways to solve real world customer and internal workflow problems.
• Identify real needs and build technical solutions around them. Work across the full lifecycle — prototype, iterate, ship and maintain — and stay close to the problem you're solving.
• Translate AI capabilities into clean, trustworthy experiences. Think carefully about how what you build is used — by end users, by colleagues, or by other systems.
• Design how AI agents present their findings and ask for feedback.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of professional experience in software/product engineering with a proven track record of shipping end-to-end products.
• Proficiency in Python and in building full stack applications.
• Experienced in building LLM powered workflows using common LLM APIs.
• Engineering mindset — you think about why something needs to exist, who it serves, and how it fits into the broader vision.

Nice to have

• Former founder or early engineer at a startup who built a product from scratch.
• Experience with TypeScript and Terraform.
• Familiarity with cloud and infrastructure.
