Senior AI Platform Engineer

About the role

As a Senior AI Platform Engineer, you will be the cornerstone of our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. You'll lead the development and operation of our analytics platform while supporting internal and client projects as a platform engineer. This role offers a unique opportunity to pivot between two mainstreams: data and platform engineering.

What you'll do

• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using dbt, SQL, and modern data stack tools
• Develop robust data models and transformations for analytics, reporting, and machine learning workflows
• Implement comprehensive data quality frameworks and monitoring using tools like Great Expectations
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
• Lead the operation and enhancement of our internal analytics platform for data-driven decision-making
• Design and implement data validation, testing, and documentation standards
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for automating infrastructure provisioning
• Support the enhancement of orchestration tools such as Flyte and Airflow within our data ecosystem

What you'll need

• MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent working experience
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with dbt
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation
• Experience with cloud data platforms (preferably GCP BigQuery, but AWS/Azure experience transferable)
• Familiarity with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or similar)
• Understanding of data modeling, warehousing concepts, and analytics engineering best practices
• 2+ years experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform

Nice to have

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools
• 2+ years experience with container orchestration like Kubernetes
• Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker) and infrastructure tools
