Junior Accountant

About the role

As a Junior Accountant at LAP Coffee, you'll play a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly during an exciting growth phase. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations that keep our business compliant, organized, and ready to scale.

What you'll do

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing across all locations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and reconciliations to support decision-making and business planning.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Ensure full compliance with German accounting standards (HGB) and tax regulations, keeping us audit-ready at all times.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, serving as the primary point of contact for accounting matters.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights to support our growth plans.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and support system implementations as we scale.

What you'll need

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6 months to 1 year of accounting experience, ideally in hospitality, retail, or fast-growing startups.
• Strong knowledge of German bookkeeping, accounting standards (HGB) and tax law, and comfortable navigating compliance requirements.
• Proficient in accounting software such as DATEV, SAP, or similar tools.
• Advanced Excel skills and can build reports, analyze data, and present insights clearly.
• Fluent in German (written and spoken); English proficiency is a must.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in environments where accuracy and efficiency matter.
