Working Student – Mechatronics & Production Support

About the role

As a Working Student in our Operations department, you will support the technical side of operations, contributing to Industrial Engineering, Test Development, and Quality Assurance to ensure our products meet the highest standards.

What you'll do

• Engineering Support: Assist in the development and implementation of electro-mechanical test fixtures and production tools
• Prototyping & CAD: Design and iterate mechanical components and assembly aids using CAD tools and 3D printing
• Scripting & Automation: Write and maintain basic Python scripts to support test automation and data collection
• Hands-on Testing & Assembly: Support the assembly, testing, and quality control of our Matrix Array modules
• System Operation: Set up and operate test environments using HOLOPLOT systems to validate hardware and software performance
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, assembly instructions, and test reports

What you'll need

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, OnShape) and basic understanding of 3D printing workflows
• Initial experience with scripting, ideally in Python, and willingness to troubleshoot technical challenges
• Basic electronics skills such as soldering and working with tools like multimeters or oscilloscopes
• Willingness to engage in practical tasks, from assembly and testing to handling hardware setups
• Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and documentation
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
• Available to work 16–20 hours per week
