About the role
You will act as a key driver of supply chain performance, ensuring stability in existing operations while supporting the successful introduction of new products. You will step in as Team Lead during a parental leave (4–5 months), managing and mentoring a Junior and a Senior Buyer, then transition back into a primarily strategic and operational expert role.
What you'll do
- Own and drive sourcing strategies for mechanical components (e.g. enclosures, chassis, custom hardware) and electronic components (e.g. PCBAs, semiconductors, transducers)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers, leading negotiations to optimise cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks while ensuring optimal inventory levels to support production
- Partner closely with Engineering and other stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies align with technical and product requirements, especially in NPI projects
- Manage and mentor a Junior and a Senior Buyer during interim leadership phase, ensuring continuity, performance, and team stability
What you'll need
- 8+ years in Supply Chain Management or Strategic Sourcing within a hardware or manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on experience sourcing mechanical components (e.g. metalwork, plastics, assemblies)
- Good understanding of electronic components and PCBA manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with international import/export processes and supply chain flows
- Experience leading or mentoring teams, with the ability to step into temporary leadership roles effectively
- Ability to quickly create impact in a time-bound assignment and balance short-term execution with long-term thinking
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills; fluent in English and German
Nice to have
- Experience in the audio industry or consumer electronics
- Background in scaling supply chains for low-to-medium volume, high-tech products
