About the role
As the Senior International Category Manager for Groceries (GRO), you are a strategic leader steering the 2026+ "Refresh" strategy across international markets. You will own a complex, high-impact portfolio, designing long-term sourcing strategies that elevate product quality, scale the weekly menu, and drive structural ingredient variety.
What you'll do
- Define and execute multi-year sourcing strategy for a complex long shelf life product portfolio, unlocking macro-level sourcing opportunities and driving systemic cost efficiencies across the global network.
- Lead complex, high-stakes negotiations and forge long-term strategic partnerships with third-party warehousing providers, optimizing supply chain structures for ambient goods.
- Act as a senior leader cultivating deep trust with executive stakeholders and leading alignment with Food Safety & Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Operations, and Product teams.
- Design strategy for supply risk management across long shelf life categories, including commodity price volatility, supplier concentration risk, and currency exposure.
- Partner strategically with culinary and product leadership to integrate New Ingredient Development at a portfolio level.
- Lead drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex, high-value supplier agreements and long-term Joint Business Plans.
- Serve as internal subject matter expert on global grocery commodity trends, private label dynamics, currency impacts, and regulatory shifts.
What you'll need
- 6–8+ years of strategic procurement or sourcing experience, with proven track record in long shelf-life food categories.
- Experience designing and executing multi-year category strategies and transforming supply chains.
- Expert-level negotiation skills, with experience managing multi-million-euro portfolios and closing complex, long-term international contracts.
- Demonstrated ability to influence at executive level and lead complex matrix teams.
- Deep, systemic understanding of global supply chains, logistics, risk management, and market economics.
- Ability to synthesize complex macro-data into clear, strategic roadmaps and business cases.
