About the role
As the Engineering Manager for Pricing & Promotion, you will be a founding leader within the RevTech domain. You'll lead a cross-functional team responsible for the mission-critical systems that determine commercial success, owning the logic for how items are priced, how retail media and promotions are orchestrated, and how product data flows through the organization to maximize revenue.
What you'll do
- Lead & Grow Engineers: Build a high-trust, high-performing team from the early stages, responsible for hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Build the RevTech Foundation: Help define the architecture for the commercial stack—from automated pricing engines to sophisticated retail media campaign managers
- Drive Commercial & Retail Excellence: Partner with Commercial leads to build tools that enable intelligent assortment selection per hub and real-time promotion management
- Own the Commercial Data Flow: Ensure product data and pricing updates flow seamlessly and accurately across the entire organization, from supplier integrations to checkout
- Guide Technical Direction: Lead architectural decisions and RFC discussions within the RevTech domain, championing low-latency systems and data integrity
- Champion Reliability & Financial Precision: Ensure pricing and promo systems are resilient, observable, and 100% accurate
- Partner Across Flink: Collaborate with peer Engineering Managers in Data, Logistics, and Product to ensure RevTech integrates with the broader ecosystem
What you'll need
- Demonstrated people leadership with a track record of building and scaling engineering teams in a high-growth environment
- Direct experience with commercial or financial systems, such as pricing engines, promotional platforms, retail media tech, or inventory management
- Strong technical foundation in backend systems and API design, with a deep understanding of managing complex business logic at scale
- Experience with distributed systems and data pipelines, ensuring high availability and data consistency across multiple regions or hubs
- Strategic mindset: ability to translate high-level commercial goals into a concrete technical roadmap
- Clear communication: comfortable bridging deep technical implementation and commercial business context
Nice to have
- Experience in Quick Commerce or Marketplace environments where localized assortment and pricing are key
- Knowledge of Retail Media technology and how to integrate third-party or internal advertising systems
- Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, and Golang within a microservices architecture
- Background in Data-First Engineering: familiarity with how ML models influence pricing or assortment decisions
- Experience with AI tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development
