About the role
You will join Helsing's AI Assurance team to develop cutting-edge techniques for scalable evaluation of AI products in the defense sector. This role involves defining operational domains, evaluating AI reliability, and advancing uncertainty quantification methods for robust AI systems.
What you'll do
- Define operational domains and evaluate reliability of in-house AI capabilities
- Develop and extend state-of-the-art uncertainty quantification and calibration techniques
- Interface with AI systems and evaluate their robustness in real-world and adversarial scenarios
- Design data collection and experimentation strategies to extract causal insights
- Enhance responsible decision-making via uncertainty quantification and safety mechanisms
- Collaborate across multiple teams and contribute to impactful projects
What you'll need
- STEM MSc with solid mathematical and statistical background
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and presenting research findings
- Passion for staying current with research and reimplementing state-of-the-art Deep Learning approaches
- Solid software engineering skills in Python and/or Rust, Java, or modern C++
- Experience deploying AI software to production including testing, QA, and monitoring
Nice to have
- PhD in model evaluation, robustness, uncertainty quantification, experimental design, or causal inference
- Publications in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.)
- Industrial experience in safe deployment of AI products
