Product Engineer (AI Accelerated, Ruby/TS)

About the role

As a Product Engineer, you'll own initiatives end-to-end from understanding user pain points to measuring impact. You'll work on the B2B-facing side of HeyJobs' marketplace, building solutions for recruiters while leveraging AI-augmented software engineering tools.

What you'll do

• Own initiatives end-to-end from solution design to shipped features
• Translate user pain points into solution proposals and coordinate with designers
• Build and maintain the Recruiter Portal using TypeScript and React
• Build and maintain Ruby on Rails backend applications
• Create epics, break them down into tickets, and manage delivery planning
• Conduct user research and communicate with internal stakeholders
• Troubleshoot bugs and pair with engineers on complex problems
• Own release management and draft product documentation

What you'll need

• Minimum 2 years of full-time software engineering experience
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and TypeScript or JavaScript
• Intermediate SQL knowledge
• Solid understanding of web development fundamentals
• Experience leveraging AI tools like Copilot, Cursor in workflow
• Strong interest in product ownership and understanding the "why"
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving aptitude

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Claude Code
• Experience with product management activities
• Experience owning features beyond just coding
