About the role

This is a computer vision engineer position at Helsing, a defence AI company, where you'll build AI models for object recognition, tracking, and video understanding. You'll work on challenging computer vision problems that require high performance under hardware constraints and robustness against adversarial attacks in defence applications.

What you'll do

  • Develop computer vision models and pipelines leveraging state-of-the-art methods and architectures
  • Build models for object recognition and tracking, video understanding, and scene matching
  • Design experiments and conduct benchmarks to evaluate model performance in real-world scenarios
  • Adapt models to target hardware and constraints of downstream ML/AI tasks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on impactful defence AI projects

What you'll need

  • MSc in computer science, machine learning, robotics or related field
  • Experience conceptualising, implementing and evaluating advanced AI-based systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present research findings
  • Passion for staying current with research and reimplementing state-of-the-art approaches
  • Solid software engineering skills in Python and/or Rust, Java, or modern C++
  • Experience deploying AI software to production including testing, QA, and monitoring

Nice to have

  • PhD in computer vision, machine learning, or robotics with publications in top-tier conferences
  • Experience with object detection, tracking, scene understanding, and 3D applications
  • Experience developing AI methods on edge devices with limited compute resources
  • Experience with simulators, emulators, or synthetic data generators
